Here is a small guide which will enable you to be aware and best use the facilities available at Gracevilla.
CHILDREN
Children aged 8 years and above will be treated as adults.
PETS
Gracevilla is able to accommodate pets, given prior notice. We do charge a deposit which is fully refunded on departure subject to there being no soiling or damage caused. We request you to please ensure that your pet does not cause any inconvenience to other guests who may not necessarily be fond of/ comfortable with pets.
SMOKING

Please avoid smoking inside the rooms. You are free to smoke outdoors or in the balcony.

It can take 18 months to 10 years for a cigarette butt to decompose. They are NOT biodegradable. Please throw them on designated waste bins / ashtrays only.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Rooms are available from 2pm on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure, unless otherwise you have taken prior permission. Such requests for flexible checkout can be accommodated only if there isn’t any immediate check-ins following your check out.

ACTIVITIES AT GRACEVILLA

Gracevilla, offers leisure facilities on site some of which can be availed by guests for free.

  • The natural pool is a unique feature that we offer to our guests. You can swim in chemical free water and and experience a swim in a natural pond. The plunge pool will be open to guests only during specified times of the day. Small children must be accompanied by adults while using the pool. The plunge pool is fed by a natural spring and the level of water varies depending on the rainfall received.
  • Wifi is available and not charged
  • Board games are available for use and should be returned to the same shelves from where they were taken.
  • We have a collection of books that are placed in various shelves in the common areas. Please feel free to use them and return them to the shelves they were taken from. We are thankful to guests who leave behind a book to add to our library.
  • We can organize a plantation walk for you where you can see the coffee, pepper and a whole variety of fruit trees. This will give you a first hand feel of what a farmer’s daily work is about.
  • A charge will be made for the use of certain facilities such as the MTB cycles. We can also arrange for a tuk-tuk (Autorikshaw) or a cab should you want to visit neighboring places of interest. The same will be chargeable. Your use of such facilities is subject to any particular terms and conditions of the homestay. Age restrictions may apply to certain facilities and details of these are available from the homestay.

Please check the availability and range of facilities at the homestay when placing your booking.

DEPOSITS AND PRE-PAYMENTS
Guests are expected to make payment of the entire booking amount at the time of confirming your booking at Gracevilla. Expenses, bills incurred during your stay can be settled at the time of check-out.
CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS

All cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation terms.
Cancellations for confirmed bookings received one month before check-in, 25% of booking amount will be deducted

Cancellations for confirmed bookings received between 8-30 days before check in 50% of booking amount will be deducted

Cancellations for confirmed bookings received between 0-8 days before check in or no-shows – 100% of booking amount will be deducted

In the unlikely event where we may have to change or cancel your reservation the following terms will apply;

  • accept the changed arrangements as notified; or
  • make alternative arrangements with us; or
  • cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to us in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other persons/agents in connection with your reservation).

For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any online booking through intermediaries.

COMPLAINTS OR COMMENTS

We take our guest’ satisfaction very seriously. We would appreciate that any complaint or comment regarding your stay at Gracevilla be made in the first instance to the staff or management present at the time of your stay so that we can attempt to resolve it immediately.

Problems which cannot be resolved there and then should be notified by email to gracevillampza@gmail.com.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained online, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured online at any time.

Subject to the paragraph immediately below, we shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage in circumstances where:

  1. there is no breach of a legal duty owed to you by us or by our employees or agents;
  2. such loss or damage is not a reasonably foreseeable result of any such breach;
  3. any increase in loss or damage resulting from breach by you of any term of our contract;
  4. any loss is in excess of three times the fee payable in respect of your stay.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Indian law and the Peermade courts shall have jurisdiction over any matter arising out of or in connection with them.

AIRPORT PICK-UP/ DROP
We will happily organize your private transfer to the airport at the reception. This will be charged.
ROOM SERVICE
We DO NOT provide room service. All meals will be served at the dining area only. You are most welcome to use the electric kettles to make coffee / tea. Please DO NOT use the kettles for anything else but for heating water.
ADAPTER
Each room comes equipped with an universal connection plug board. In case you still need an adapter, please contact the staff.
BABY CRIB
We will happily provide you with a baby crib.
DRINKING WATER

Our tap water is not drinking water. For the preparation of baby food or for consumption, please use the bottles of water readily available at your room. This water is filtered using RO technology and is safe to use. You can refill this at the filter placed near the dining area. This is free for you!

Branded mineral water is also available. To discourage the use of plastic bottles we charge a premium for these bottles.

ATMs

The nearest ATM is at Kuttikanam (5km) or 35th mile (15km). Please DO NOT handover your ATM card and PIN to any person irrespective of his/ her credentials.

CHANGE OF TOWELS/LINEN

To help conserve water, towels and linen will be changed only when necessary and upon request. A towel on the floor indicates “Please exchange!” while a towel on the rail means that you want to keep using it!

ELECTRICITY

Our rooms are equipped with triple-pole plug sockets. Because of current fluctuations in the area, we advise to disconnect and unplug sensitive electronic devices when you are not using them. Owing to the terrain and since we experience heavy winds at times, the power connection could fail occasionally. In such an instance we do have an inverter backup. The inverter powers one light in the bathrooms, one light and fan in the bedrooms and one light in the different common areas. We have limited the load on the inverter so that basic lights and fans be kept running longer should there be an extended power failure.

Thomas the potter’s pottery art, paintings, and ceramic collectibles adorn the property, weaving a story of creativity and inspiration. The artistic ambiance invites you to explore the unique expressions of human ingenuity that harmonize with the natural landscape. All the art pieces, painting are for sale and you can contact the management or the artist for buying any of them.

GAMES
You can borrow several entertaining board games by talking to our staff. Please be careful with them and return the same at the reception in a good condition so that the next guest can enjoy them just like you did!
INTERNET / WIFI

You can access the internet for free in most places in the building and in the areas around it.

LAUNDRY SERVICE
You can use our laundry service 7 days a week. Please contact the staff for charges, etc.
BOOKS

Our library is distributed in books shelves/ cupboards on the ground and first floor common areas. You are welcome to borrow a book or even leave behind one of your own. Please take good care of the books and keep them back in the same shelf that you took them from. The daily newspaper is also available at the front verandah. Magazines are arranged in the rack in the sitting room.

LOST AND FOUND

Please contact the reception.

LUGGAGE SERVICE

We’re pleased to carry your luggage to your room. Please contact us at the time you want your luggage to be picked up from your room.

MOSQUITOES
To guarantee a peaceful sleep, we have installed mosquito nets in all rooms. Due to the verdant surroundings there are a large varieties of insects in vicinity. Please keep the mosquito nets closed in your rooms to ensure you don’t invite them into your room.
PAYMENT
You can pay for your bill either in cash (USD, EUR, INR) or using UPI methods. We recommend doing so the night before your departure in order to avoid any unnecessary delays on your departure day.
ROOM KEYS

Please do not take your room key to out of the property or when you walk into the plantation or when you go for a swim or on excursions. Instead deposit it with the staff. In case you lose it, we will bill you to exchange the lock for your own safety.

TIPPING

Every day, a lot of busy hands are at work to make sure that our guests have an enjoyable holiday. Some of them might be invisible to you. Therefore, we have installed a fair tipping box at the reception. The collected amount will be shared by all our employees every month end. Should you chose to tip any staff individually you are most welcome to do so.

TOUR OPERATION

We can put you through to some very interesting people who run equally interesting places! We promote destinations that are family run and offbeat locations but at the same time give you an authentic experience of what Kerala has to offer.

We also arrange for House Boat Cruises through reputed operators in Alleppey.

TV

We DO NOT provide a television in the property.

We encourage guests to spend time outdoors and use our facilities like the the natural pool, the plunge pool, read books available, try spotting the various birds in the area, play board games, stroll through our plantation and visit our vegetable garden,  laze around in the hammock, cycle around the area and soak up some fresh air, look at the paintings and the ceramic works of art, pluck yourself some fresh fruits or just about do anything but watch TV!!

UMBRELLA

We will happily provide you with an umbrella for use during your stay. Guests are requested to take good care of the same and return it to the stand from where it was taken.

VISITORS

If you want to welcome visitors that are not guests at Gracevilla, you can meet them in the public areas of the villa. Please note that without previously obtained permission from the management, visiting rooms is not allowed.

EARTH FRIENDLY

Gracevilla strives to be Earth-Friendly. Please help maintain the Resort free from garbage.

Please do not throw plastics or paper in the common areas. Please use the waste bins provided in rooms and other designated areas.

Preserve water and electricity. 

Please be aware while taking a shower or using the wash-basin that water supply is not endless!

We treat each plant/tree as babies. Please treat them as such.

HEALTH, SAFETY, ENJOYMENT AND DECORUM

Gracevillais a family-oriented resort. We encourage vitality, peace and order. Weapons, prohibited drugs and/or any kind of dangerous, harmful and hazardous substances are not allowed in the resort premises.

Any guest/s who are causing public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm; fighting; violence; unreasonable or untimely noise; abusive, obscene, or threatening language; harassment; and behavior that inhibits the enjoyment of other guests is unacceptable and will be escorted to vacate the resort premises with no refund whatsoever.

Do not remove beddings and mattresses from rooms, unless allowed by the Management.

COOKING

Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited. Please use the electric kettle in the common area only to heat water.

SAFETY AND SECURITY OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Guests are responsible for the safekeeping of their own valuables and personal belongings. The Resort Management and its staff will not be liable for any loss or damage of guest’s valuable items and personal belongings.

RESPONSIBILTY FOR CHILDREN

The guest is responsible and liable for the safety and conduct of his/her children and to ensure that their behavior is acceptable to other guests. Please ensure that children DO NOT cross the fencing under any circumstances whatsoever. Please supervise children playing near the fence or in the water bodies to avoid accidents.

DAMAGE / LOSS OF RESORT PROPERTY

Guests are financially responsible for any damage / loss to any equipment / property, either intentional or accidental. Willful damage or defacing of Resort property / equipment will result to immediate eviction, payment of damage fees and/or prosecution.

NOISE POLLUTION

Any type of loud speakers are not allowed.

COOKING

Rice cookers, electric stove and other electrical appliances are not allowed in the room. You are most welcome to use our kitchen should you want to try cooking something on your own.

FOOD AND DRINKS

Bring food from outside if you want. However please do not carry the food to your room. Please make sure you dispose of the trash properly.
You can use our refrigerators / freexer should you want to bring / store edibles.

DISCLAIMER

Gracevilla shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal property, bodily injury or loss of life suffered by any guest arising from the use of any facilities or equipment within the resort, including but not limited to all vehicles, cycles, watercrafts and water sports. Guests agree to render Gracevilla, its owners, officers and staff; free and harmless from any claims arising from the use of any of the equipment or facilities in the resort. Furthermore, all guests, by virtue of their reservation, acknowledge all the rules, regulations and guidelines of the resort and agree to abide by them.

Whilst every effort is made to fulfill any particular requests which you may have in relation to your stay with us, we cannot unfortunately guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests which you may make and our failure in this regard will not constitute a breach of contract.
