The sea holds many, many wonders…Thomas likes to mould them into life to exist as timeless sea-inspired ceramic pieces, in the world above.

Thomas Louis is a Goa-based sculptor, artist and potter who started his ceramic journey in the 6th grade with sculpture class and went on to study Ceramics Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

He has been fascinated with the sea for as long as he can remember and has created quite a growing niche and name for himself with his unique sea-inspired pieces and paintings.

He has worked with Ceramics, Illustration, Painting, and Sculpture for over 25 years and has his pottery studio and shop called ‘Thomas the Potter’ in Fontainhas, Goa.

All the ceramic work, paintings and wall murals that you see on the different walls or shelves at Gracevilla are all done by Thomas.

Each marine mural and piece he creates is an expression of his love and fascination for our coral reefs, the sheer life they are teeming with, and the luminous colours of the sea.

Thomas’s work invites viewers to reflect not only on the ocean’s marvellous little creatures, but also its fragility. His pieces serve as both a celebration of the sea and a call to action, to conserve the precious little we have left.
